John William Hansen, professionally known as Jerry Hansen, was a multi-instrumentalist, the pioneer of Ghanaian highlife music, and the founder of the Ramblers International Band.
Born in Asante Bekwai, he attended the Seventh Day Adventist School, where he learned from musical icons at the Methodist and Achimota Schools.
A few years after his graduation, he received a scholarship to study in Germany, where he networked with people who now happen to be pioneer members of the Ramblers International Band.
